Creative Facilitation
Traditional facilitation skills within business follow a well defined process – understood by all involved.
Creative facilitation, by contrast, takes the facilitator and all participants out of their comfort zone – introducing novel thinking, entertaining the impossible, and generally having fun.
This 2-Part workshop introduces participants to various creative problem solving techniques (Part 1 – half day) and the exposes facilitators to improvisation techniques (Part 2 – half day).
Part 1:
Building upon the “Introduction to Creativity” workshop, participants will be equipped to facilitate a range of techniques e.g.
- Boundary Examination
- Superheroes
- Reversal
- Finger Painting
Part 2:
Having had the chance to practice the above techniques within their own organisation, participants will then learn the mantra of improvisation:
- Listen
- Say “yes!”
- Commit
The focus here is to develop confidence in creative facilitation – maximising its effectiveness. A number of improvisation techniques will be introduced, and ample opportunity to practice will be provided.
After Part 1 and 2, participants will understand the elements of competency that make up an effective creative facilitator, and have been introduced to various techniques to refine that competence over time. Participants will be equipped to introduce Creativity Clubs within their own organisations.
